2046
My husband and I watched 2046 the other night. It was visually stunning but boy was it long. A whole week past while we were watching it! We actually didn’t even watch it to the end because we simply lost stamina. I can’t remember the last time I didn’t stick out until the end with either a book or a movie. Also, it was frustrating because there were several ending spots and each one got subsumed by the next. Plus, the music was really repetitive.
We were disappointed because we saw the trailer for 2046 when we saw Kung Fu Hustle, which is fabulous. The trailer had us convinced it was a science fiction/thrill. But it’s really 1960s Hong Kong. Oh well. It truly was gorgeous, though.
